Fresh Christmas trees add a wonderful scent to the air in your home., but they need a lot of attention. Always make sure there is enough water for the tree, as once the water level goes below the bottom of the trunk, it will no longer take in water, and will begin to dry out. Most tree lights get very warm, and increase the chance of fire if the tree is already drying out.
Make sure walks are cleared of snow and salted, so holiday guests won't fall and hurt themselves.
If you're hosting a party, and are planning on offering alcoholic beverages, have plenty of food on hand as well as non-alcoholic drinks. Also be prepared to ask intoxicated guests to spend the night, or give them a safe ride home. Not much dampens holiday spirit more than death and destruction. Do your part to avoid both.
